FAQs about working with a Virtual Assistant
I hope the questions and answers are helpful to you in your search for a Virtual Assistant. These are actual questions I've received through e-mail from individuals looking for a Virtual Assistant. Please feel free to leave a question that hasn't been answered here or send your question to info@exemplusonline.com
What is a Virtual Assistant (VA)?
A virtual assistant at Exemplus provides administrative and business support remotely. All or most of the services are typically completed electronically. Some of the support Exemplus has provided to clients are producing e-newsletters/e-mail campaigns, developing brochures, updating/maintaining website information, renewing memberships, setting up online accounts, etc. There are many ways a VA can provide support. If you have something special in mind, please let me know. Also, VAs are referred to as cloud assistants, remote executive assistants, or virtual secretary.
How effective is the communication if we never see each other?
These days, communication is done mostly through e-mail or cell phone. Face-to-face communication is rarely necessary. Exemplus takes full advantage of available technology to stay connected with clients and to conduct business. I respond to every e-mail I receive as soon as I receive it. If I can’t give you the answer in that moment, I’ll let you know that I’m working on it and will be getting back to you.
You’re a total stranger, how do I know you’ll get the work done?
This might be the biggest block many people face when considering hiring a VA. You certainly have the right to interview me and upon request, I always provide a list of references so you can conduct your own reference check. Trust works both ways and I’ve been known to check a potential client’s background.
Why work with a VA?
There are many reasons a business owner would prefer to work with a VA. The business owner could be a one-person-show and doesn’t need full-time or even part-time administrative support so I provide on-demand support. Space might be limited. Temps cost too much and you might not get the same person again. I’ve also done some software training with clients. The most significant reason to work with a VA is the value of your time. Do you really want to spend your billable time against administrative work? Remember, I’m a business owner too, so I have to be smart, trustworthy, and reliable in order to stay in business.
There’s so much I need done, I just don’t know where to start!
This is a pretty common exclamation. Everyone is busy, sometimes too busy to know what they need or what they can pass on to a VA. We’ll start with a conversation about your current projects and any projects you have lined up, then we’ll prioritize. We’ll break down what needs to be done then sort out the work.
If I give you a project to work on, how do I know what’s been done and what’s left to do?
I’m a pretty good communicator and I will always keep you current on the progress of a task or project. You will also receive a statement of work with your monthly invoice. Of course, you can also ask
How is payment handled?
Once you’ve selected the package that best suits your needs, payment can be made through PayPal or with a personal check.
