Stripping Formatted Text
Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 5:58PM Have you ever wanted to copy text from a document without all the formatting that came with it? Well you can and it's super easy. You have a few paragraphs with all kinds of formatting, such as indents, bold text, italicized text, underlines and you want to copy it to another document without the formatting. In other words, you want to strip the formatting so that you are left with pure, clean text. When using Word do the following:
- Copy the selection
- Paste Special
- Select unformatted text
When using Excel, Access or some other program, copying and pasting the text to Notepad (PC) or TextEdit (Mac) will strip the formatting. Use this as a backup if the Paste Special feature doesn't work in Word.
